Mr. Pease Talks to Mintcast about ASPIRE Adopting Linux Mint as Main OS for Computers

If you care to listen to the podcast of Mincast Episode #82 here is the link: http://mintcast.org/wp-content/uploads/mintcast_published/mintcast082.mp3  I don’t start speaking until about 20 minutes into the podcast.

ASPIRE Uses LinuxMint Linux OS

All the computers at ASPIRE are now using LinuxMint operating system instead of Windows due to its open-source nature and no cost pricetag. In the past we used PCLinuxOS 2007 and Ubuntu, but LinuxMint has become the choice of OS for student and teacher computers throughout the school. Linux has virtually no spyware, malware or viruses that can attach themselves and cause system slowdowns. Also, there is a myriad of free (totally free) and good software for education. This system is supported world-wide and is based on the Ubuntu OS which we used previously.
